Scots road shut as emergency crews called to two crashes in same area

Emergency services rushed to two crashes on the same part of the A92 which resulted in the road being closed for more than two hours.

Both collisions happened on the northbound section of the busy dual carriageway, near the Lochgelly Interchange, shortly before 5.25pm on Monday evening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of two crashes on the A92 near the Lochgelly Interchange around 5.25pm on Monday, 6 December.

"The first involved one vehicle which left the road and the second involved two vehicles. No-one was injured in either crash and the road is closed while the vehicles are recovered.”

A tweet from Traffic Scotland just after 7.40pm on Monday said the northbound section of the road has now reopened.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said two appliances were called to the scene but said no one needed to be cut free from the vehicles.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has also been contacted.
