Scots react to Nicola Sturgeon's hilarious new #KeepTheHeid slogan as bars and restaurants reopen

Nicola Sturgeon has pleaded with Scots to 'keep the heid' as pubs open back up for the first time since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.

Speaking at her daily coronavirus briefing on 14 July, the First Minister slipped into Scots, saying: "It's in everyone's interest that we just all just keep the heid around this and do the right things."

And today (15 July), she also took to Twitter and used the phrase as a hashtag to reminding people of the social distancing measures, writing: "Today is a big step out of lockdown. Please act safely & responsibly. Let’s all #KeepTheHeid."

#KeepTheHeid has since started trending with some hilarious and baffled reactions from Scots to the new slogan. Someone even turned it into a face mask!
