A NUMBER of high-profile Scottish racing drivers are in the hunt for podium glory in Europe this weekend.
Dundee’s Finlay Hutchison, pictured top, will begin his 2021 campaign with Audi Sport squad Sainteloc Racing in the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
He and his fellow R8 LMS GT3 pilots are being tipped as ones to watch in the three-hour race at Monza in Italy on Sunday.
Kirkcaldy’s Jonny Adam returns to defend the Pro-Am class title as part of an unchanged Garage 59 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 crew.
Successful GT campaigner and fellow Fifer Dean MacDonald will compete in the GT4 European Series as part of the Monza weekend in a United Autosports-run McLaren 570S.
Meanwhile, Airdrie’s Ryan Dalziel and his US-based Era Motorsport team-mates will make their European Le Mans Series debut racing an LMP2 Oreca at the 4 Hours of Barcelona on Sunday.
Midlothian’s Colin Noble will return to that competition, as well as the Le Mans Cup two-hour race tomorrow, with Nielsen Racing, in an LMP3 class Ligier JS P320.
Last weekend, Aberdonian father and son Stewart and Lewis Proctor, pictured above, claimed a fine second-place in the GT Cup Championship opener at Donington Park in their Balfe Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3.
And Dumfriesshire’s Ross Wylie claimed third and second-place finishes in the GTO class at the wheel of an SB Race Engineering Ferrari 488.
