Scots punter plugs in his own electric heater at pub and causes power cut

A hapless punter shorted out a pub after plugging in an electric heater he brought with him.

The chilly customer was hoping to get cosy at the Newton Arms in Newtonhill, Kincardineshire.

But his unorthodox plan backfired spectacularly when his heater shorted out all the pub's sockets.

The pub posted on Facebook: "It's pretty surprising that we are about to write this but hey, it's 2020, so let's just go for it.

"Can we remind all customers that they are NOT permitted to bring their own electric heaters to the pub.

"Especially if they plug them in and unwittingly trip all our sockets. Thank you."

Regulars had a tongue in cheek reaction to the hilarious warning online.

Some cheekily asked whether fire pits or gas heaters are allowed.

While Johnny Kymatiks posted: "This post is gold - thank you whoever you are."
