Scots presenter Jenni Falconer mugged by thugs on bikes

Scots telly and radio presenter Jenni Falconer was mugged by a gang of thugs on bikes during a run in London.

Jenni who regularly goes running was making her way through Parliament Square in London when she was robbed by a group of boys on cycles.

She explained: "I was on a run at the weekend through central London and got to Parliament Square. I did that thing where I stopped to check my phone because I got a text message.

"These boys on bikes came up to me, pushed me and grabbed my phone. I chased after them but I was never going to catch them on their bikes."

Despite her distress Jenni was lucky because some on-duty officers heard her shout for help and and ran to help her.

Jenni told The Sun: "They heard me shouting 'stop them' and chased after them, and I got my phone back!"

"I want to say a massive thank-you to those police officers. I feel very lucky."

Judge Robert Rinder was also recently attacked in broad daylight as he had his phone grabbed from his hand in what appears to be a growing trend during lockdown.

Robert, 42, who is also a barrister was in shock after the mugging in Canfield Gardens, near Finchley Road in London, on Wednesday, March 24.

He offered a cash reward to those help could help him find the thieves and later said he felt sorry for them.

He tweeted: "I've just had my phone grabbed out my hands by 3 boys wearing balaclavas on bikes (Finchley Road & Canfield gardens).

"They laughed as I shouted to drop it. I'm in shock but am insured & privileged. Others are less lucky.

"Help me find these people & stop them (financial reward)."
