Edith Bowman wants to apologise to Martin Scorsese for getting too touchy-feely with him during an interview.
The Scots broadcaster said she was left mortified when hosting a Q&A session with the famous director for his gangster film The Irishman.
She told how she laughed at all his jokes and repeatedly tapped him on the shoulder, leaving her fearing she may have injured him.
The presenter said she realised later she had been too tactile with Scorsese, 78, who was promoting the 2019 film alongside its stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Harvey Keitel.
Edith, 47, originally from Fife, said: “I got asked to host the premiere which was incredible and then I got asked to host a question and answer with them all, and they put Scorsese right next to me.
“He is very warm, he’s very open, he’s not one of these people you feel scared to talk to.
“So I kept doing this thing where he would say something funny and I would tap him on the shoulder and be like, ‘Oh Marty, stop it’.
“I had realised how much I had done it and I was thinking ‘the poor man is going to have a bruise on his shoulder’,” she told Jay Rayner on his Out To Lunch podcast.
