Scots prankster hilariously trolls cold caller over remote control car 'crash'

This is the moment a Scots driver hilariously puts down a cold caller be playing him at his own game.

Fed up podcast host Scott Williams from Edinburgh says he relentlessly receives around six cold calls per day from from accident claims firms, comparison sites, loan businesses and travel companies.

Having had enough, the 43-year-old decided to take action and 'have some fun' with cold caller 'John' on Wednesday with doting wife Susie, 38, on recording duties.

He told the Record: "I think nowadays, more than even before, it's important to have a laugh and not take things too seriously.

"Cold callers can be really abrupt in telling you about an accident for example that just didn't happen.

"So I wanted to give him a wee bit of chat to see

In the side-splitting exchange, where Scott is told he's been in an accident, the joker agrees with 'John' and proceeds to explain a 'crash' involving his remote control car in his living room.

He tells him: "So I don't know if it was my fault of the coffee table?

"The coffee table is from IKEA. I spoke to IKEA. Basically the coffee table was a bit larger than what it was in the shop. So what am I best doing?"

The cold caller replies: "No, I'm asking about a road traffic accident, sir. Have you had a road traffic accident, or not?"

Scott quips back: "Yes, with my remote control car, the living room, the one I've just told you about.

"Now, it was a bit of a tricky one, so I don't know if you can help us. Is it IKEA's fault? Is it because I put new batteries in the ZZ 200 Toyota? What would you suggest?"

Having had enough, 'John' concludes: "I can't help you with that scenario, sir. Thank you, bye.

Scott says this won't be the last time he trolls cold callers.

He added: "Luckily my mental health is in good shape.

"But I know people who suffer from anxiety who get several calls like this a day.

"My mum has the same problem, as well as people coming to the door which isn't right. If I can have a wee bit of fun with it, then why not?"
