A Scots pony with 'wee man syndrome' picked a fight with a huge horse leaving his owner in stitches.

Little Nikki the Shetland pony went viral after squaring up to a full sized Clydesdale horse named Lord, near Ayr.

The pair who are best mates were caught on camera by owner Andie Millar, 35, as they had a playful ‘wrestle’.

The tiny nine-year-old  Shetland pony, who forgets his size, belongs to a family friend who was visiting for the day.

Andie, who has owned horses all his life, told the Daily Record: “They are best mates, they are not fighting, they are just playing.

“It’s just hilarious as wee Nikki thinks he’s the same size as Lord.

“Even non-horsey folk can tell Nikki has “Wee man syndrome”

Posting the video on social media Andie said:“If you need a laugh today watch this Shetland pony wrestling my Clydesdale on a wet afternoon.

“Wee Nikki, really has ‘Wee Man Syndrome’ and thinks he’s the same size as Lord.”

The video raked in over 700 likes as people commented and shared the hilarious footage.

One person said: “Small yet mighty.”

A second person said: “That's hilarious! Really having fun.”

A third person said: “How cute..playing like wee pups!”

A fourth person said: "The terrier of the horse world.”
