Scots police dog sniffs out 'soggy drink driver' hiding in Fife river

A Scots police dog has been praised after sniffing out an alleged drink driver hiding in a Fife river.

Police were called to an alleged hit and run in the Lochgelly area in Fife on Monday after reports of drunk driver colliding with several vehicles before crashing and fleeing the scene.

Cops attended the incident and sniffer dog 'Pdogz' went hunting for the suspect.

Thanks to Pdogz strong scent, the 'soggy' driver was traced hiding underwater in a nearby river.

Police Scotland Dogs tweeted the result.

It read: "Suspect drink driver in the Lochgelly area last night whereby a vehicle collided with several vehicles before crashing and driver making off.

"#PDOz tracked from the vehicle and traced the driver hiding in a river.

"One soggy customer #DrinkDriver #OneForTheJail."
