Scots photographer captures Perthshire whisky distillery in all its autumn glory

A Scots photographer has captured a whisky distillery in Perthshire looking absolutely gorgeous in all of its autumn colours.

Linda Donnelly was visiting Pitlochry when she decided to stop in at Blair Athol Distillery after spotting that the ivy and other plants that cover the front of the picturesque building had begun to change colour with the season.

A riot of oranges, reds and yellows, the Perthshire distillery makes for a wonderful sight.

Linda said: "I had been staying in the area for a while but only managed to get to check out the distillery a few days in. I had passed this way at the end of October last year and knew I wanted to return as the colours are spectacular in Autumn.

"It's absolutely a wonderful place to see and I think we got our timing just right."

Spectacular is definitely the word for it.

The distillery is a bit of a tourist attraction in its own right, thanks to its location close to the A9 heading from Edinburgh to Inverness.

It's known for its excellent tours and the fact its whisky is made from spring water originating in the Allt Dour, which flows from the slopes of Ben Vrackie.

The original home of Bell's, the distillery was founded in 1798 and is currently owned by Diageo and produces the popular Blair Athol single malt whisky.
