Scots pensioner assaulted and robbed by female thug

A Scots pensioner has been left shaken after being pushed to the ground before being robbed by a female thug in Perth. Police were called to North Methven Street on Saturday, 19 November, at around 4.30 pm to reports that the 68-year-old man had been attacked.

Authorities say the woman repeatedly pushed the pensioner to the group outside a pub before making off with a two-figure sum of cash. The man is believed to be shaken but unharmed.

Police Scotland have released a description of a suspect they want to speak to in relation to the incident. They are described as being a white female, in her 30s, of slim build with fairish or dark long hair which was tied up at the time of the assault.

The suspect was last seen wearing a light green tracksuit with white trainers. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch and assist with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Liv McIntyre, Perth CID, said: “The man has been left shaken by this unprovoked attack and it’s vital we trace the person responsible.

"Officers have been checking CCTV as well as making local enquiries. The area was busy at the time I am sure someone will have seen the robbery take place.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who asked members of staff within the bar to call for help. She may have witnessed what happened and could help with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information about what happened is urged to call officers via 101 quoting reference number 2356 of 19 November, 2022. Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
