Scots park dogging claims addressed as cops quizzed on range of issues

Dogging, stealing and the use of quad bikes featured on the agenda of the latest meeting of Ralston Community Council.

The community council last month received a report from police with officers Bruce Heron and Louise Sung present.

They explained the force had been focusing on issues of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Officer Heron said they have been using their quad bikes to tackle the illegal use of motorbikes and quad bikes, seizing a number of vehicles and alcohol.

Councillor Clark raised the issue of young people stealing items from shops on Arkleston Road and Greggs on Glasgow Road.

And an article from a national newspaper – which named Barshaw Park as a dogging hotspot – was also raised with the officers.

The community council also spoke of the need to raise awareness of fraudulent activity and scams relating to the cost-of-living crisis.

Members of the community council will next gather on the evening of Thursday, October 13 when the AGM will also take place.
