A serial sex beast who planned to have a baby so he could rape it has been jailed for hoarding animal porn as it was “something different” from child abuse.
Porn addict Robert McNab, who created fake identities to target people on Facebook and WhatsApp, was jailed for two years when he appeared in the dock at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.
The twisted 34-year-old, who began downloading the animal abuse images the day he was released from prison, was also told he will be monitored in the community for 12 months after his release from prison.
The paedophile, who was previously convicted of abusing a young girl and conspiring to have a baby with a stranger so he could rape it, was also placed on the sex offenders’ register.
The court heard the woman-hating sex offender, who is also known as Robert Aitman, was found with the illegal extreme pornography last year.
McNab, who was previously jailed over child abuse images, hoarded the banned material on a mobile phone.
He had successfully kept the phone secret from police officers and social workers who were monitoring him in the community to ensure he did not offend further.
But a cleaner found it hidden under his pillow and gave it to police.
Last week, the court heard McNab watches online porn and had turned to animal porn in a bid to stop looking at indecent images of children.
He had earlier admitted charges of breaking a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) by using a mobile he had not told the authorities about, and possessing “extreme pornographic images” – showing “sexual activity between a person and an animal”.
He had 579 images, downloading them between May 7 and 22, 2020, at his homeless flat in Greenock.
Defence solicitor Gerry Keenan said: “He says he was attempting to suppress his inclination towards the type of behaviour your Lordship sees in his previous convictions.”
In 2017, Sheriff Derek Hamilton slammed McNab over his warped desires as he caged him for hoarding images of children being sexually abused.
He said: “You discussed your desire to have a baby with a complete stranger and then to rape the child.”
