Depraved Scot caught with stash of child abuse and beastiality pics

A man caught with dozens of sickening videos showing women having sex with dogs and horses is facing jail.

Craig Johnston, 49, built up a depraved stash showing children as young as three-months-old being subjected to horrific sexual abuse.

Police were alerted that indecent images were being viewed at his home in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, and later raided the property.

He had been using social media and WhatsApp to communicate with other predators online.

When officers arrived, Johnston told them: "I'll just stop you right there.

"Someone's been sending me stuff over Kik and I kept rejecting and rejecting it."

An investigation discovered he had 350 still images and 188 videos showing bestiality porn with women engaging in various sex acts with animals.

They also found 198 photos and 193 clips of children being molested with many showing the most depraved level of abuse.

The police probe also revealed Johnston had been engaging in twisted conversations with other perverts and had exchanged sickening photos with them.

After being sent an image of one young girl, he replied: "Oh my God, she's gorgeous."

He also had 21 sickening images on a WhatsApp account.

Johnston, of East Kilbride, has appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted possessing and sharing indecent images of children.

He also admitted having photos and videos of adult females engaged in sexual activity with animals.

Depute fiscal Jennifer McCabe said: "On the 10th March 2020, the National Online Child Abuse Prevention agency received information that indecent images of children were being accessed at the now accused's property in East Kilbride.

"A search warrant was applied for and granted.

"On arrival police were allowed entry by the accused who was informed of the reason why they had a warrant to search the property.

"Police recovered a Samsung A50 from the top of a bedroom cabinet and he stated that only he used it and that it was a work phone.

"Cyber crime attended and carried out a preliminary examination which showed a number of category A images of children aged between eight and 13 and that images had been distributed as part of a social media group chat."

The prosecutor added: "Cyber crime examined the phone again and found 350 more still images displaying bestiality and 188 moving images displaying bestiality.

"These images mainly showed women engaging in sexual acts with dogs and horses."

Andy Thomson, defending, said: "He is a working man and I would be asking that his bail be continued for the preparation of reports."

Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen deferred sentence on Johnston until next month for reports and placed him on the sex offenders' register.

He added: "Be in no doubt that these are serious charges."

Johnston had his bail continued.
