Scots Olympic gold medalist Callum Skinner makes Twitter appeal to find nicked car

Olympic gold medallist Callum Skinner is appealing for the return of his car after it was stolen.

The Scottish track cyclist, who won gold and silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics , was targeted in Manchester, where he moved from Glasgow as he prepared for top level sport.

Callum posted a tweet that have details of his distinctive £35,000 blue Audi e-tron - a rare plug-gin hybrid with a Manchester bee and a Saltire on the rear window.

He tweeted: “If anyone sees this car reg WO64 ORA (might have had reg changed) with a Manchester bee and saltire on the rear window, it’s stolen and it’s mine.

“It’s quite a rare model given it’s an e-tron A3. Give the police a call if you see it. Thanks.”

Callum quit the sport earlier this year at 26 after a battle with illness and has declared a desire to protect sport from doping.

He hit the pinnacle of his sport by scooping a gold medal in the team sprint and a silver in the individual sprint in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
