Scots nursery shuts and kids told to self-isolate after staff member gets virus

Parents are being told to keep their kids away from a Scots nursery after a worker contracted coronavirus.

Health chiefs confirmed a staff member at Lochgelly West Nursery in Fife has tested positive for Covid-19.

Families have been told their children should stay away as a "precaution" and self-isolate until Monday, September 28.

NHS Fife posted on Facebook the measures come into effect from tomorrow with kids told to return on Tuesday, September 29.

Health bosses added: "There is no evidence of any transmission within the nursery at this stage and the risk to pupils and staff is low."

Coronavirus symptoms include a fever, loss or change in taste or smell or a new and continuous cough.

Anyone who develops any of these should arrange testing using the UK Government Citizens’ Portal or by calling 0800 028 2816.
