Scots NHS bosses have apologised after a vaccination bus ran out of jags due to high demand.
NHS Lothian's bus at Fort Kinnaird shopping centre in Edinburgh was there throughout the weekend.
However, was forced to close an hour and a half early because of its popularity, according to Edinburgh Live.
The bus is open to those of all ages and offers a flexible drop in service for those wanting to get their covid vaccines.
Angela Robertson and her 12-year-old son were two of those who had attended the NHS bus to get their jags on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live she said: “It was absolutely fine, they didn’t anticipate how busy it was going to be when we arrived there was only one person doing vaccinations but after queuing for 45 minutes they had four people doing the vaccinations.
“There were a lot of 14 and 15 year olds there and my 12 year-old son and some of his friends from Portobello High School were all there getting vaccinated.
“It was very efficient. There were two queues, one for registering and another for getting the vaccine.
“Having the buses around the city definitely takes the pressure off. “
Pat Wynne, Director of Community Nursing, NHS Lothian, said: “Saturday’s mobile vaccination clinic at Fort Kinnaird was particularly busy and experienced high demand throughout the day.
“By around 5.30pm, the clinic ran out of vaccine stock and the decision was taken to close the clinic half an hour early.
"We decided to do this as taking more vaccines out of cold storage at this point in the day would have resulted in a high level of wastage.
“Unfortunately, around four patients were unable to receive their vaccine on Saturday evening.
"They were given information about where they could attend a clinic the following day.
"We continue to monitor our vaccine stock carefully and apologise for any inconvenience caused to patients.”
Over 70% of the population in Scotland has now been fully vaccinated.
