Scots neighbour from hell drunkenly tried to kick door in to get free WiFi

A teenage tearaway tried to batter down her neighbours' front door - in a failed bid to leech off their WiFi.

Neighbour from hell Nicole Wylie was so out of control during her drunken rampage that the police had to be called in.

Wylie, of Irvine, Ayrshire, was 19 at the time of the January 2020 ruckus, which saw her try and fail to get free internet access.

And the 20-year-old was spared jail over the incident and other offences when she returned to the dock at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court yesterday.

Wylie was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday. (DAILY RECORD)

Prosecutor Angie Bennett told the court the WiFi incident took place at around 4.30pm.

She explained: "She hit the door of the witnesses, shouting and swearing, saying, 'give me your f****** WiFi password'.

"The witnesses declined to do so. The accused began kicking the door, shouting and swearing and ordering the witnesses to divulge their password."

The court heard she also had a drunken rammy with cops last July, which saw her threatening to attack the officers, kicking one and lunging towards another.

She also racially abused one of the officers, branding him 'a f****** p***' and demanded to speak to 'a Scottish cop'.

Sheriff Alistair Watson said Wylie has "fairly entrenched difficulties that need to be addressed" and placed her on a Community Payback Order (CPO).

The CPO will see her supervised by social workers for 18 months and carrying out 120 hours' unpaid work.

As he did so, he said: "Frankly, if it weren't for the fact you're so young I'd simply send you to prison today.

"You've got yourself into real difficulties you need help with.

"You've got the potential to lead a decent life, but you need help."
