A murderer who killed a feared gangland enforcer had nine months added to his life sentence today for assaulting a prison officer.
Graham Higgins punched Alan Henderson on the head in Glasgow’s HMP Low Moss on November 4 2019.
The 32-year-old was earlier snared with a toilet brush with a razor blade attached to it hidden in his trousers.
Higgins was sentenced to life in June 2016 for the murder of Albert McDonald - an associate of Blackhill Butcher, Martin Hamilton.

He stabbed McDonald on the head with a knife after dragging him out a car.
Higgins pled guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault on prison guard Mr Henderson to his injury.
He also admitted having the razor blade without lawful authority or a reasonable excuse.
The court heard Higgins’ cell in the prison’s segregation unit was searched.

Prosecutor Jennifer McKee said: “They found a toilet brush with a razor on top of it in the waistband of his trousers.
“A struggle ensued between Higgins and the officers and he punched officer Henderson on his face.”
The officer fortunately escaped with bruising but was required to take two weeks off work.
Lawyer Billy Lavelle, defending, told the court Higgins believed that he would be assaulted by prison officers.
The lawyer added: “The atmosphere in the segregation unit was low and his behaviour at the time reflected this.
“He seemed to overreact to the situation and the way the prison officers wanted to deal with him.”
Sheriff Ian Fleming told Higgins: “I recognise the difficulties you were under at the time but this is your fourth offence in a prison setting you have been involved in.
“I can’t impose a concurrent sentence again.”
Higgins replied: “Thanks your honour” as he was led into custody.
