Scots parents are backing a national 'pumpkin trail' idea after Nicola Sturgeon admitted Halloween may be cancelled due to Covid-19.
The First Minister told Holyrood that children may be banned from guising this year in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.
However determined parents have come up with an inventive way to make sure their excited little ones get to celebrate Halloween in their fancy dress costumes.

Parents are urging homeowners to get in voled with the Pumpkin Trail by placing a pumpkin somewhere on or around their homes so children can wander along and count as many as possible.
The idea seems to have originated from Artventures - a children's art group in Leeds - but has been shared across the UK by parents keen to make sure Halloween happens for their children.
The poster says: "Halloween 2020 might be a bit different this year and trick or treating as we know it will be off the cards. But we can still have loads of spooky fun.

"This Halloween let's all join together and create The Big Neighbourhood Pumpkin Trail. Stick a pumpkin in your window or outside your home - a real one, plastic, painted, whatever you like. Together we can create one giant pumpkin trail in our local areas and children can see how many they can spot over Halloween weekend."
The poster has been shared on countless Facebook pages with dozens of parents keen to get involved.
One parent said: "how cool would it be if everywhere in Scotland did this, I even suggested a wee Halloween decoration too, if we all do it, it will be amazing for the wee ones.
Another said: "This is a fab idea, my kids would love it."
Another added: "Amazing idea. My boys will definitely love this."
