Scots mum stunned as kindhearted stranger holds ‘screaming’ baby so she can eat meal

A new Scots mum has shared the moment a kindhearted stranger offered to hold her newborn baby so she could tuck into a well-deserved meal.

Tanya decided to head out for dinner at a restaurant in Livingston as she 'didn’t have the energy to cook'.

But as soon as the server brought her dinner over, her baby started “screaming”, reports Edinburgh Live.

Tanya said that a woman came over to offer her a hand by holding her baby as she finished her food.

The mum shared a snap of the woman and another man holding the baby at their table over social media - and it has been shared hundreds of times over.

She wrote: “So after a hard day we come out for dinner .. as I’m over tired, haven’t done a food shop and can’t seem to find the energy to cook.

“While my dinner has just been put out in front of us .. boom Miya starts screaming .. so while holding her to calm her down am trying to eat my meal.

“Then this lovely lady comes over and asks to hold Miya so I can eat my dinner

“One of the nicest things .. how some people are just so nice and don’t judge.

“If anyone knows these two.

"Thank you very much.”

The moment warmed the hearts of many with one person commenting: “How lovely, there are so many nice people out there, hope you enjoyed your dinner!”

Another person added: “This is awesome makes such a huge difference to the judgemental folk that stare n give dirty looks hope u enjoyed ur meal, this lady must be a mum herself cause mums just know.”

A third penned: “She's obviously been in your shoes before and knew how to help, she looks so at ease with the wee one!

“The world needs more folk like her. Maybe one day you can return the favour to another parent needing an extra pair of hands.”
