Scots mum's horror at 'Make Down's Syndrome Extinct' t-shirt sold on Amazon

A Scots mum has spoken of her horror at discovering Amazon selling a t-shirt with the slogan "Let's Make Down's Syndrome Extinct".

Stacey Corrigan - whose six-year-old son Daniel has Down's syndrome - says she is "disgusted and horrified" that the t-shirts were being sold online.

The 34-year-old said: "I can't believe they have been allowed to sell this. Who even thinks up an idea to design this?

"Daniel is just perfect to us and we wouldn't change a thing about him.

The t-shirts were first discovered by two mums in England, Rachel Mewes, 37, and her friend Caroline Wylde, 36,who complained that Amazon was "promoting hate crime" on its website.

Since the women complained Amazon removed the item from its website.

But Stacey, from Paisley, says she is furious that Amazon allowed the "hateful" t-shirts to be sold in the first place.

She added: "It is so hateful and should be a crime.

"They wouldn't be able to write homophobic slogans or racists ones.

"To target a group who are disabled is just disgusting and I am horrified Amazon gave them a platform to share their hate."

Amazon refused to comment on the t-shirts but did confirm they could no longer be found on the site.
