A Scottish mother has been left broken hearted after being unable to pay the £2.50 entry fee for her child's Halloween party at school. The devastated mum is desperate to take her daughter to her first ever Halloween school disco but says there is no one she can turn to for help, reports the Mirror.
The mother is unsure how to break the news to her excited five-year-old ahead of the event which is set to take place later today. The anonymous user shared the gut-wrenching story on internet forum for parents, Mumsnet.
The Scot started her story by insisting she was not looking for any monetary help as this was not a begging post. She then goes onto explain her sorrow around the situation but discloses she has 'nothing left to give'.
The mum then goes onto explain that she doesn't get paid until Friday and is currently relying on foodbanks to feed her children before payday. In the somber post, she shares that she doesn't know how to break the news to her daughter who is just getting settled at her new school.
She said: "I'm absolutely devastated that this is my life. I'm going to drop her and her siblings off and school and then head to the local foodbank so they have some food in their tummies tonight.

"I just have nothing left to give. I get paid on Friday but that's no use to her. She's had a really hard time settling into school and making friends and oh I just feel absolutely heart sorry for her that such a simple thing like a school disco. I'm unable to give her.
"No real point really to this post just looking for some pointers on how to break the news to her when she is so unbelievably excited. My heart is breaking."
In response, fellow parents were quick to try to comfort the mum, and many said they hoped the school would be able to help her.
One commenter said: "Please ask the school. I hope they will be kind enough to help you out." A second offered: "I will paypal it to you." And another wrote: "You are not alone."
Replying to commenters, the mum thanked people for sharing advice and said she plans to ask her daughter's school for help.
"I suppose I'm just absolutely mortified that this is my life and didn't really want to disclose my situation but I will go into the school this morning and see what I can do," she wrote.
In a second follow up, the mum added: "Please no I wasn't asking anyone for anything. I am going to speak to school when I drop her off and hopefully they will understand and let me pay on Friday. My daughters dad is with us although he is disabled and we are on disability payments which are due on Friday. Thank you again for your kind comments."
