Scots mum lashes out at 'unskilled' Ryanair staff who 'injured baby twice during flight to Spain'

A mum has hit out at Ryanair and claims her baby was injured by cabin crew on a flight from Scotland to Alicante.

Steph Bryce, 23, from Falkirk was taking Parker Dunn, aged four months, to visit her parents in Spain and booked to fly with the budget airline from Glasgow Prestwick.

However, she says Parker was injured twice during the outbound flight on August 14.

As it was Steph's first flight with a baby, she asked cabin crew for assistance in fitting his infant seatbelt.

Steph told the Record: "With a baby you get another belt which I had to clip on to my seatbelt.

"It was our first flight so I didn't know how to do it.

"We asked one girl and she strapped it in.

"Another cabin crew came and said it wasn't done right.

"He tightened it so tight Parker's arm got caught and he couldn't move it.

"He was screaming in pain.

"I didn't realise that his arm was stuck under at first. He hurt his arm."

Steph managed to free Parker's arm but claims he was injured a second time during the flight.

She says a member of cabin crew elbowed Parker in the head, leaving a mark.

Steph said: "We were sitting in a aisle seat and I was holding Parker because he isn't allowed to have his own seat.

"One of the cabin crew actually walked past and somebody shouted on him.

"He turned around and just swung his arm

"In doing so he hit Parker's head.

"He was screaming. It was an impact on his head."

On arrival in Spain, fuming Steph and her partner tried to enjoy their holiday with Parker, and returned on August 30 to catch their flight home to Glasgow Prestwick.

And Steph says their return flight didn't get off to a great start either.

She claims they were the last passengers on the plane - despite having a small baby in a buggy - and that they had to navigate steps when other passengers appeared to have used a tunnel to go on to the plane.

Steph said: "The tunnel looked like it had been connected to the plane but had been disconnected before we boarded.

"I had to go down two flights of stairs.

"We should have been going on first with a buggy.

"One of the cabin crew that I spoke to on the way to Glasgow Prestwick understood how I felt being left to go down two flights of stairs. She was really apologetic.

"She helped us off the plane at the end.

"She made a point of doing that.

"That'll all we wanted at the start."

Steph has sent two emails of complaint to Ryanair about her experience but has not received a response.

Ryanair have been contacted for a comment.
