Scots mum goes viral with brilliant Shameless Frank Gallagher costume

A Scots mum has been transformed into Shameless star Frank Gallagher with a Halloween effort that has been hailed by punters.

Wishaw man Ryan Gray shared his mum's costume on social media where it went viral.

Clad in a scruffy shirt, green parka, 'stubble' and even a cigarette and can of Dragon Soup, she looks the spitting image of the slob from the Channel Four series.

Ryan's Facebook post has now been shared more than 7,000 times with more than 4,000 reactions.

He wrote: "Ma maws dressed up as Frank Gallagher. Happy Halloween troops."

Scottish Government regulations have banned guising this year as part of the fight against coronavirus.

But the costume has still been the talk of the town with hundreds tagging their pals in the comments.

Actor David Threlfall brought the larger than life Gallagher patriarch to the small screen.

Previously acting in Shakespeare productions, Threfall was praised for his portrayl of the boozy antics on Manchester's Chatsworth Estate
