Scots mum creates tropical paradise in garden after daughter misses out on holiday

A Scots mum has transformed her garden into a tropical paradise after her daughter missed out on a holiday due to the coronavirus crisis.

Jordanne McGowan, from Glasgow, was supposed to jet off for foreign climes today.

But due to the ongoing pandemic, with flights stopped worldwide, Jordanne was facing another day in lockdown.

Pool ready (Twitter)

She was shocked to find her mum had decorated the garden with deck chairs, a paddling pool, bunting and a stocked bar to make cocktails from.

She tweeted: "Supposed to be going on holiday today and my mums decorated the back garden like this bless her wee heart"

The bar is stocked (Twitter)

The tweet has since gone viral picking up 30,000 likes and nearly 900 retweets.

To add to the holiday feeling the chars have been covered by Thomas Cook towels while the 'bar' in the kitchen has a sign advertising when 'happy hour' is.

And fellow Twitter users were equally impressed.

One wrote: "This really is so thoughtful!  You obviously have the best mum ever! "

Another tweeted: "This is wonderful, what a fabulous mother you have "
