Scots mum and daughter set to star in Channel 4's Four in a Bed

A Scots mum and daughter duo are to star on TV week as they compete in Channel 4 programme Four in a Bed.

The Star and Garter in Linlithgow, West Lothian will feature on tomorrow night's show as Denise and Carina Powley host their competitors.

The aim of the popular game show is to see who has the best value bed and breakfast between four UK B&Bs.

Denise and Carina Powley from Armadale took over the B&B in September 2020 and made the brave decision to go on the show less than a year later with filming taking place in April 2021, reports Edinburgh Live.

Carina, 22, said: "It was a really, really good experience and interesting getting to see all the different places compared to our own.

"We filmed in April 2021 so just before Scotland moved out of lockdown and it was all Scottish businesses involved including one from Edinburgh and some up north."

The hotel is described as a "magnificent Hotel in Linlithgow with 5 luxury En-suite Rooms, Restaurant with exceptional delicious homemade food, Bar with premium beers & amazing cocktails! Beer Garden and Courtyard".

They will be taking on three other accommodations across the UK, staying at each one and rating them on cleanliness, breakfast, comfort and their hosts to find out which is the best value for money.

The local hotel shared the exciting news on Facebook saying: "We are really excited to finally let you all know what we got up to during the second lockdown.

"We only went on Four in a Bed! Make sure you all tune in and watch all of the 5 shows!"

The only hint to how the West Lothian establishment got on is the episode description which states, "The competition kicks off at the Star & Garter in Linlithgow, West Lothian where guests have connectivity concerns as well as worries over water supply in the morning."

Located on Linlithgow High Street right in front of the train station, the central establishment is known locally for its entertainment, and wide variety of good value food and drink.

The show will consist of five episodes all airing at 5pm on Channel 4 in a special episode where all establishments are based in Scotland.
