Edinburgh motorists have been warned to take "extra" care on the roads after a thick fog descended on the city.
Residents in the capital woke to find an eerie haar had blanketed the city overnight.
The reduced visibility on the roads in Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians - including the Edinburgh City Bypass and the M8 - has sparked travel concerns.
Traffic Scotland told motorists: "We're noticing heavy fog in Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians. Please take extra care if driving in the area this morning."
Dramatic photos from live traffic cameras this morning show the extent of the heavy fog, which is still covering busy commuter routes.
The Met Office has suggested the overcast weather will change to sunshine by lunchtime, with highs of 19 degrees in Edinburgh.
It comes as the Daily Record reported Scots are set to sizzle this week, with highs of 24C in Glasgow and sunshine by Wednesday.
Elsewhere, the temperature in Edinburgh will peak on Tuesday with 20C and the mercury will rise to 18C in Aberdeen.
