Scots motorists have lucky escape after vehicle flips onto roof on residential street

A horror smash on a Scots street saw a car flip onto its roof this afternoon.

The single vehicle collision took place at around 3pm in Kirkcaldy.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Valley Gardens after the smash left the silver Mercedes on its roof.

Police and the ambulance service attended the scene in Kirkcaldy (Fife Jammer Locations)

Luckily, the occupants escaped relatively unscathed and only required treatment at the roadside.

Dramatic photos shows the vehicle balancing upside down with its windows shattered.

Police confirmed the car has since been uplifted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single vehicle which had overturned on Valley Gardens in Kirkcaldy shortly after 3pm on Saturday, 20 March.

"Police and ambulance attended and the occupants were treated at the scene.

"The vehicle has since been recovered."

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
