Scots motorcyclists rushed to hospital with serious injuries after crash on A7

A Scots motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after being seriously injured in a crash this morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the A7 in Midlothian, close to Middleton and near the junction with the B7007, around 11.15am on Monday.

A 51-year-old man who was riding a silver Kawasaki ZX1400 has been rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment of serious injuries following a collision with a white Peugeot 108 car.

The 23-year-old female driver of the car was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for around six hours to allow for a collision investigations to take place at the scene.

Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to get in touch.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage of either vehicle involved beforehand.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1088 of 20 September.”
