Scots man stabbed twice in sickening attack rushed to hospital

A man was stabbed twice in the stomach in a horrific morning attack.

The 39-year-old was attacked yesterday morning at the junction between Kestrel Crescent and Rook Road in Greenock.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and remained there overnight.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan MacKinnon, of Greenock CID, said: “At 9.45am at the junction of Kestrel Crescent and Rook Road, a 39-year-old male sustained two stab wounds to his abdomen.

“He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

“We are treating the incident as a serious assault.”

Police say the attacker is a man in his 40s and have released a description.

DS MacKinnon said: “Enquiries are ongoing. The suspect is described as white, in his 40s, around 5ft 8ins in height and of slim build. He had blonde hair and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.”
