Scots man missing for almost a week as police become increasingly concerned for his wellbeing

A Scots man has been missing for almost a week as police become increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

Thomas Gater, 25, was last seen in the city centre area of Edinburgh on Sunday August 8, according to Police Scotland.

He is described as white, of a slim build, 5ft 7ins in height with long brown dreadlocks sometimes hidden by a large hat.

It is not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Police are now appealing for the public's help to trace the 25-year-old.

Constable Robert Thomson from Gayfield Police Station said: “We are asking for the help of the public to find Thomas as we are becoming increasingly concerned about his wellbeing.

"If sighted, please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting Incident 1438 of 10/08/2021."

It comes after 57-year-old Mark Johnstone was traced safe and well on Monday August 9 after vanishing from his home in the capital on the previous day.
