Scots man dies in hospital two weeks after 'serious assault' in Rutherglen

A 51-year-old man has died in hopsital two weeks after a 'seriously assault' in Rutherglen.

Emergency services raced to the incident on Farmeloan Road around 12.05am on Thursday, October 21.

The man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow as medical staff described his condition as critical.

He sadly died in hospital on Thursday November 4 as a result of his injuries.

A 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and previously appeared in court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 51-year-old man who was injured in Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, around 12.05am on Thursday, 21 October, 2021, died in hospital on Thursday, 4 November, 2021.

"An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday, 22 October, 2021."
