A Scots man has become a millionaire overnight after scooping an eye-watering Lottery prize.
The mystery EuroMillions winner, known only as Mr. B from Lanarkshire, won a whopping £1,000,000 UK Millionaire Maker prize in the EuroMillions draw earlier this month on Friday, May 7.
The Lanarkshire local had played their hand at the Lucky Dip via the National Lottery app after a "few simple taps" - and his bank balance is thanking him for it now.
Despite his newfound wealth, Mr. B is not after the limelight following his huge win and has chosen to stay anonymous.
Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “Huge congratulations to Mr. B for winning this fantastic prize. After a few simple taps, he has become a millionaire overnight!
“We’re encouraging everyone to check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to buy or check their tickets in retail in line with government guidance.
"Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.”
It comes after Scots were urged to check Euromillions tickets last month after a mystery UK winner scooped £122m last month.
The Daily Record reported how the t icket-holder was the fifth biggest ever National Lottery winner and had matched all five Euromillions numbers, as well as the two Lucky Star numbers.
