A Scots man accidentally got a Princess Diaries quote tattooed on his ribs after thinking it was an "ancient prophecy".
Jordan Daly fell in love with the quote when he was 18 and immediately decided he wanted to translate it into Latin and get it tattooed on his ribs.
He has now revealed on Twitter that years later he discovered it was actually a quote from popular film The Princess Diaries.
The quote says: "The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all."
Tweeting the funny tale, Jordan said he now uses it as an icebreaker.
He said: "My icebreaker story is how when I was 18 I saw this quote online and loved it, so I got it translated to Latin and ran off to get it tattooed on my ribs.
"Thought it was some ancient prophecy. Only years later did I find out that it’s actually a quote from The Princess Diaries."
The quote in the first film can be heard when Princess Mia opens a letter from her deceased father as she plans to run away on her sixteenth birthday.
Prince Philippe Renaldi can be seen writing to his daughter by a river as viewers hear him say: "Courage is not the absence of gear but rather the judgement that something is more important than fear; The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all."
