Scots Love Island contestant Dale and partner Abigail leave villa in brutal dumping

Love Island has bid farewell to another Scot as Dale Mehmet has been dumped from the villa.

Abigail Rawlings, who was coupled up with Dale, was also dumped as the islanders decided to send the pair home in a brutal dumping.

Fans of the ITV2 show had to wait 24 hours to find out who was going home as Sunday night's episode ended on yet another cliffhanger.

As the contestants danced at a beach club outside of the villa, they were left stunned when Laura Whitmore arrived on the scene.

The Love Island host revealed that the public had been voting and one boy and one girl would be leaving immediately.

The six contestants with the least votes were confirmed as Jake, Tyler, Dale, Abigail, Mary, and Kaz.

The safe Islanders were then told that it would be their choice as to who stays and who leaves - and then the credits rolled.

But as Monday night's episode began, Dale and Abigail were informed that they were the two who would be jetting back to Blighty.

The dumping may come as no surprise as the group were always going to save Jake for his girlfriend Liberty, and Tyler and Kaz had recently rekindled their romance.

Mary has also been saved but it's unsure who she will want to couple up with now that Dale has gone.

Love Island airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV2.
