Litter-pickers have been left stunned after a bright blue slug was found inside a bottle of MD 20/20.
The North Calder Heritage Restoration project could hardly believe their eyes when the blue beastie was spotted submerged in the boozy liquid during a sweep in Airdrie.
Incredibly the unfortunate bright blue slug was still alive.
The group poured out the wine-based drink and the creature came falling out before sliding off.

The litter group said: "Poured this wee guy out of the bottle and couldn't believe my eyes. Found on the North Calder Heritage Trail in Airdrie on our 6th litter-picking event (alive somehow)!
"All of Scotland's crisis emergencies in one picture."
Asked in the comments if the slug had polished off the full bottle, the group replied: "It was about 3/4 full of clear liquid. Somehow he absorbed all the colouring, haha."
Naturally locals were quick to poke fun at the drunken slug.

Ann Smith Skelly joked: "Guess he’s found his tipple."
Barbara King said: "Do you think he feels a bit sluggish?"
Kate Smith said: "One drunken slug...", while Adan Turner said: "Special blend."
Meanwhile Linda McIntosh could be accused of taking things too far, adding: "I know alcohol is a depressant, but that wee guy has really got the blues . . . . I'll get my jacket."
