Anderson Strathern has become the first Scottish legal firm to join the Meritas global network.
The alliance of 180 firms in 90 countries was set up in 1990 in the US and demands "uncompromising service standards" of members.

"Joining Meritas increases our global reach while offering our clients an even larger network of legal expertise. We will also be working with Meritas firms to give their clients access to the complexities of Scottish law with an international outlook.”
Anderson Strathern has clients in the US, South America, China, India and Europe, including German renewable energy group Vento Ludens and Austrian engineering group Thoni Industriebetriebe.
The Meritas move will also help international-facing UK clients such as software group Altia-ABM.
