Scots kids hang rainbow pictures in windows to raise spirits through coronavirus pandemic

Scots kids on lockdown are hanging pictures of rainbows to the windows of their homes in a bid to spread some cheer amid the coronavirus crisis.

Hundreds of mums from across Scotland have already signed up to the 'I Spy A Rainbow' movement which has already seen colorful art work popping up in windows across the country.

The colourful movement aims to lift spirits of people passing by as the entire world battles Covid-19.

Mums, dads and carers stuck at home with children are being encouraged to get their little ones to draw a rainbow and pin it in a window to spread some cheer.

It comes after the UK Government announced all schools would be shut down and are unlikely to re-open before the summer holidays.

Scots mum Emma Sutherland started the Facebook page on Friday (March 20) and already has almost 1,000 members who all have rainbows in their windows.

Emma said: "I'm bored of all the negative posts, so here's a little page to escape that and find the Rainbows that are popping up in Windows!

"We did ours yesterday , I'm no Picasso as you can tell but Adam was delighted!

"Look out when passing , we will even give you a wave as you pass if we see you.

"Feel free to invite friends and lets get some Rainbows filling the feed instead of empty supermarkets."

Mums from across Scotland joined the page in their droves, with pictures of their little ones' colourful creations.
