A Scots journalist has revealed he was rushed to hospital with a blood clot after contracting coronavirus.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has shared his health scare with his followers on Twitter to urge people to get the vaccine.
Last week, the journalist revealed he had been in self-isolation after Scotland's game at Wembley but was on the mend.
He admitted his experience of the bug had been "brutal" and there had been some "scary moments".
But just days later Anthony revealed he had been rushed to hospital where medics found a large blood clot in his lungs, which will take months to treat.
He was also told he had pneumonia and Hepatitis A in his liver - all due to catching the virus.
He said: "Just when I thought I was over the worst of it, I was taken to hospital on Mon. They’ve found a large blood clot has formed in my lung (6 months to treat), I’ve got pneumonia and also Hepatitis A in my liver - all from #COVID19. The diagnosis is definitely worse than how I feel.
Praising the NHS, he added his GP spotted the signs early when he wasn't fully recovering from Covid.
He has now called on people to get the vaccine, explaining he had had his booked for last month but tested positive before he could get it.
He continued: "I’m hoping to be out next week if I keep responding well to treatment.
"An important message from this is GET A VACCINE. I had mine booked for June 28, but caught it before. My mates who tested positive had been jabbed in Scotland - they felt bad, but none were hospitalised."
"The doctors, nurses & staff have been amazing. My GP spotted the signs early when I wasn’t recovering and sent me to hospital. They caught it all early so it’s all treatable, but I will have to take it easy for a wee while. So grateful for our incredible NHS."
