Scots influencer Emily Shak says her “world has been turned upside down” after her dad’s tragic coronavirus death.
The Instagram star said that her father had come down with the virus before he died ‘suddenly’ on Tuesday.
Emily took to the social media platform to thank her fans for their support as she confirmed the heartbreaking news last night.
The 30-year-old also shared a picture of her posing alongside her dad in a cute family holiday snap.
She wrote: “Hey guys, sorry I’ve been more quiet than normal on here but my world has been turned upside down with the sudden loss of my Dad this past Tuesday after contracting coronavirus.
“He put up such a fight but sadly passed away and my heart feels forever broken. Nothing in life prepares you for the pain of losing a parent.
“I just wanted to thank those who have reached out to me already with their kind words, it really does mean so much to me.
“Please take care of yourselves and each other.
“I will forever try and make you proud. Rest in peace, love you always Dad.”
Thousands of people sent messages of support to Emily following the news of her tragic loss.
Yesterday it was revealed that 56 more people had died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours in Scotland.
Deputy First Minister John Swinney also confirmed that there were 1,357 new cases recorded overnight, bringing the total number of positive cases to 79,017 since the pandemic began.
A total of 1,228 people are currently being treated in hospital for the virus - 96 of which are in intensive care.
