Scots impressionist Lewis MacLeod lands dream Hollywood role playing iconic director

Scots impressionist Lewis MacLeod has landed a dream Hollywood role playing iconic director Orson Wells.

Dad-of-two Lewis, from Bearsden, has entertained millions of viewers and listeners over the years with his hugely talented voices and impressions, including Donald Trump.

As well as being one of the voices on Spitting Image and starring as the voice of the current Postman Pat, Lewis has also been the voice of Sebulba in Star Wars: Episode1 - The Phantom Menace, Mr Happy and Mr Stubborn on The Mr Men Show, and the Earl on Cartoon Network's Skatoony.

He's additionally starred in comedy sketches for BBC Radio.

Now he's revealed that his latest role will see him actually appear on screen - as American director, author and actor Orson Welles.

Orson was most recently played by Robbie Coltrane in a 2020 Urban Myths episode.

Lewis shared a photo of his latest character, complete with famous beard and hat and said: "Cant wait! Just as Curb finishes we get TOAST!! Whoop! And I landed a part. I get to play Orson Welles!"

Lewis was referring to Curb Your Enthusiasm which finishes it's Eleventh season and will make way for Toast which last aired in 2015 and was based in London.

This time round actor Matt Berry returns as the eccentric actor Steven Toast dealing with his problems on and off stage and this time being based in Hollywood where Steven auditions for a movie in the United States.

Lewis previously starred at Stanley Kubrick in Toast of London and now looks forward to the latest challenge as Orson as the series heads for Tinseltown.

He says he expects to grace our screens in Early February.
