Scots' hilarious response to the Queen walking out of Croy train station

The Queen arrived in Cumbernauld today and caused quite a stir when she walked off a train at Croy Station.

However, of course she wasn't travelling to Scotland on just any bog standard train, she arrived via the Royal Train pulling into the North Lanarkshire station.

The reason for her Majesty's visit is because she is scheduled to make a stop at Greenfaulds High School in Cumbernauld as part of a week of royal engagements across Scotland.

Queen Elizabeth II arrives at Greenfaulds High School in the west of Cumbernauld (PA)

This is the week the Queen takes up a seven day residence in Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. From that base, the monarch visits locations across the country, meeting the people of Scotland.

With a large police presence in the town, the Queen alighted the train and was whisked away in her usual car before arriving at the high school.

However, the scheduled visit caused a stir on social media with Twitter users in hysterics over the Queen pulling into Croy.

One Scot said: "Am a on some sick kinda acid trip or did a just see the Queen walking out Croy station."

While another said:  "Surely that’s not the queen at croy station hahahhhha too good."
