Scots grandad beats coronavirus and poses for sweet pic with staff nurses who saved him

A Dundee grandad who has beaten coronavirus said he was 'overwhelmed’ by the dedication of staff who treated him at Ninewells hospital.

Ken Clark spent nearly two weeks in hospital battling the Coronavirus leaving his family worried sick.

The killer virus has claimed 47 Scottish lives as confirmed cases reached 1563.

Ken was discharged at the weekend and wanted to say thank to you to the staff who saved his life.

Staff nurse in Ward 3 Ashley Gunn said, “We discharged Ken today after a two week stay in Ninewells. Ken said he was overwhelmed by the dedication of the staff and asked us to take a photo with him to highlight his positive outcome.”

His daughter Laura Meach, who is a radiographer at Ninewells, added, “We cannot thank all the staff enough for what they have done for my dad.

“When he made it home we announced it with a ‘breaking news’ video featuring my four-year-old son Lewis.

“Thank you team Ninewells.

"Keep going, you’re doing an amazing job!”
