Scots gran left in fits of giggles after grandson's epic dance fail

Hilarious footage shows the moment a grandson face plants the floor while trying to show off his acrobatic dance moves to his gran.

Student Scott Whitelaw thought the leg jump move would bring a smile to Marion McCoulloch’s face at her Glasgow home.

And how right he was, as the attempt ended in an epic fail and Marion bursting into fits of giggles - and thankfully it was all caught on his mobile phone.

Scott, 19, said: “I think she didn’t know what was going on at first when I put my phone down. When I fell, she was a bit concerned but she had a good laugh after.”

Scott thought his moves would impress gran Marion (handout)

He first tried the flashy move - which involves holding one foot with a hand and jumping through it with the other leg - in front of pals at last year’s TRNSMT Festival.

“I’d had a few drinks and it was literally the first time I’d done it - I never even realised I could do it - maybe I need a beer first,” joked Scott.

So he thought Marion, in her 80s, might appreciate his skills on one of his regular visits to her King’s Park home.

Mobile phone footage shows Scott preparing by taking off his jacket and emptying his pockets before asking his gran: “Are you watching?”

But it soon goes pear-shaped as he catches his take-off leg on his trailing foot and heads for the carpet - sending a drink flying off a side-table in the process.

“I prepared for it but as soon as I jumped I thought ‘my leg isn’t going over my foot here’,” said Scott.

“As soon as my leg caught my foot I thought ‘I’m in trouble here’ and that was me.”

But game Scott is no quitter. “You never know, I might practise and give it another go” he added.
