Scots girl makes adorable fitness video for kids to keep active during coronavirus school closures

A  four-year-old Scots girl has come up with a fitness routine to keep kids fit amid the coronavirus pandemic.

With schools across Scotland all closing as of today personal trainer Lynn Hunter has posted a video of her adorable daughter Ellie Kennedy doing a tailor-made workout.

The mum-of-one says the routine is easy and fun and will ensure all kids stay active during the school closure period.

She said: "There has been a lot of talk about gyms closing and the effect that coronavirus is going to have on adults' physical and mental health.

"But I felt that it was important to address the health needs of our children.

"The physical health of children is something I have long been passionate about - way before coronavirus, but in these uncertain times it is something that we all need to be taking very seriously.

"I know as a parent all of my daughter's active clubs have been stopped so it will be the same for other kids and now schools are closed too, we need to make sure they are keeping themselves fit and active."

In Lynn's video Ellie is put through her paces using just her living room floor and some cushions.

The active tot is seen jumping over the cushions, lifting it above her head like a weight, and doing press-ups.

Lynn says this is the first fitness video of many.

She added: "There will be others coming. I am hoping to do one, once a week."
