Scots former Tory office brandished with Nazi swatstikas by overnight vandals

Nazi swatstikas have been painted across a former Tory office in Aberdeen.

'Q' signs were also spray painted across the building on West Mount Street in the Rosemount area of the city.

It's believed the building, which no longer serves as a Scottish Conservative office, was targeted either on Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

Councillor Tom Mason currently serves the area for the Scottish Conservatives and Unionist Party (Aberdeen City Council)

One local told the Record: "I was here yesterday and didn't see any paint, so it's only happened recently.

"I don't know who could have done it but it's not the first time this has happened.

"No other buildings have been vandalised.

"It's terrible."

The current Midstocket and Rosemount Scottish Conservative and Unionist Councillor is Tom Mason.

Other councillors serving in the area are Labour's Jenny Laing and Bill Cormie from the SNP.

The building, with a blue door, was vandalised in a similar way five years ago.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland told the Record: "Police in Aberdeen are investigating after offensive graffiti was spray painted on two premises in the Rosemount area of the city.

"The incidents were reported this morning, Thursday January 30, and officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the West Mount Street area and the Rosemount Place area."

Local area Inspector Andy Machray added: “We will not tolerate this kind of activity and are investigating to find those responsible.

"If anyone has information please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0411 for West Mount Street and 0725 for Rosemount Place, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
