East Lothian Council posted on Facebook: "Some popular car parks full before midday.
"If planning a trip this weekend prepare for possible traffic delays and remember that current public health guidelines remain to ‘avoid crowded places and observe physical distancing’."
Avoiding large gatherings to halt the spread of coronavirus is encouraged.
Warm air drawn up from southern Europe brought the glorious sunshine with it.

Forecasters predicted temperatures could reach as high as 27C in some parts, with Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness getting the best of the weather.
Perth is also seeing highs of 25C, while Scots in Dundee are enjoying 19C heat today.
But the Met Office says the balmy climate will be short lived as a cold front moves eastwards across the country tomorrow.
