Scots fans at fever pitch in London bars as Scotland go in all square at half time

Scots fans were at fever pitch in London's bars after a stirring Scotland first half.

Lisa Jardine, from Bonnyrigg, was left in charge of her son Jack, 13, stepson Connor Hogg, 14, and nephew Sam Burrell, eight, after their dads got gold dust tickets for Wembley.

Lisa, 41, said: “We got the short straw but the dads had all the points for tickets and we don’t begrudge them the experience.

“It has been an amazing first half. We have been at least as good as England and I think we had the better of things - even after that header hit the post.

“We are so much in it. The kids are having an unforgettable time. We are all hoping we can keep it going in the second half.“

Connor, whose dad Kenny was inside with the privileged members of the Tartan Army, said he was delighted with the performance.

He said: “We don’t look like we are afraid. The Scotland team has had as much of the ball as England and I think we’ve been the better team.

“It’s been exciting because against big teams we normally do a lot more defending than this. Come on Scotland!”

Fans packed into the sports bar, as they did at many similar venues in the shadow of the famous stadium.

Lisa added: “I’ve been to lots of Scotland matches but I didn't have the points to get a ticket for this game. But we’re having as good a time as we would in the stadium.”
