Scots family left shaken after being abused by dog walker at country park

A Scots family were left in shock after being verbally abused a dog walker at a country park earlier this week.

They were within a picnic area at Muiravonside Country Park, near Falkirk, and approached by a man who made threats to assault them after he was challenged regarding the conduct of his dogs.

Officers have started a manhunt for the person responsible after the incident at around 3:20pm on Monday April, 5.

He's described as being 6" 5', of stocky build and had a ginger hair and beard, and had four husky type dogs with him.

Police Constable Jim Carr of Grangemouth Police Station said: "The family were within the picnic area, when they were approached by a man who made threats to assault them after he was challenged regarding the conduct of his dogs.

"The family were unhurt but shocked by the man’s behaviour.

"He described as being 6ft 5inches tall, of stocky build, ginger hair and beard. He was wearing black boots, dark blue combat trousers, a khaki green hooded top with a zip up the front which zipped up over his face and a green camouflaged skip hat.

"He had four husky type dogs with him.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 2006 of Monday 5 April Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
